UO Tennis & Recreation Center Eugene, Oregon
CMGS provided planning, design and construction administration services for all site improvements for the new 18th Street Outdoor Recreation Complex at the University of Oregon. The project was completed late fall 2005. The facility includes two new sand-based, multi-use turf fields, six new collegiate level tennis courts, a 400-meter synthetic surface track, landscapes, a restroom/storage building and pedestrian lighting. The tennis courts are utilized for practice and outdoor competition by the UO men and women’s tennis teams. The fast drying synthetic surface, windscreens, professional court components and spectator bleachers create the optimum facility for practice, recreation, tournaments and Pac-10 competition. The unique planting, using ornamental grasses and shrubs, is designed to buffer the running track and give users multiple start and stop options when running, jogging, or walking.
